The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to Firmwide risk management and risk reduction. The division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to the Firm’s various businesses and its senior management team.

We partners with our Investment Banking (IB) and Global Capital Markets (GCM) business and various stakeholders, including CFO, tax, regionals heads and senior management to implement corporate finance / M&A deal revenue recognition, expenses and billing management; develop key critical financial analysis reports that supports Senior Management on strategic planning and business decisions. These reports cover revenue, risk & metrics reporting, expense management, finance controls & advices, budgeting & planning as well as strategic analysis.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, the Asia Pacific Investment Banking Controllers team is responsible for the guardianship of the Firm's accounting records. The team is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong analytical and communications skills. We will work as part of a large and well organized Finance Department in the region along with interaction with the Global counterparts.
Assist in revenue recognitions, risk & metrics reporting, expense analysis and finance controls
Partner with key stakeholders to carry out corporate finance/M&A middle office deal management in various industries, countries and products
Identify spending trend and patterns, potential savings/accrual needed and area of potential spending to align with and achieve business strategic goals
Produce financial and management reports and provide insightful analytical supports in various financial data for business strategic planning and decision
Control books and records (GL entries, finance data reconciliation & review), identify and investigate breaks
Assist in various business and project initiatives across Business and Finance
University graduated in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or relevant disciplines
Solid knowledge of financial products, finance and accounting concepts.
Strong numeracy and analytical skills, experience in reporting of large volume of data
High proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to navigate and work on complicated spreadsheets
Detail-oriented, willing to take ownership and accountability
Self-starter with ability to work autonomously and under pressure
Able to multi-task effectively and manage deadlines
Effective communication in both written and spoken English and Chinese
